Marketing Manager

Maya oversees all advertising and marketing for the firm, promoting the accessibility of aggressive legal representation for those who have been harmed along with the growth and success of the firm as a business. She looks forward to leading Burger Law in developments of their brand, community outreach, client success and general operation efforts and is happy to be a part of a fantastic team of genuinely compassionate people.

A writer by trade, she has both specialized and generalized marketing experience in agency and brand-side settings, primarily as a strategist and creative. As a “T-shaped” marketer, Maya is an expert in digital marketing, media, web and SEO, UX, content marketing and a few other acronyms and buzzwords. She is always looking to expand her knowledge and has developed skills in many channels and tactics, but believes that effective marketing begins with the goal, the audience and the brand in mind — not a specific trend or tactic. With her thorough, detail-oriented approach and discerning eye, Maya works to constantly shape and improve the Burger Law marketing strategy.

She is involved in a number of groups and organizations, including the St. Louis Public Radio Generation Listen (Young Friends Leadership Council) as the Digital Committee Chair, stlearthday365 Young Friends Board, a contributor for causes such as the Democracy Cup and Our Stories Are Your Stories (#OSAYS) and previously the volunteer board Director of Community Engagement for the MKTG WMN community. She is a graduate of the inaugural 2023 cohort of the Creative Ladder organization’s Rising Leaders Academy, which shapes upcoming POC / underrepresented leaders in creative fields. Representation and equality, sustainability, personal and career development and civil justice are some causes she holds important.

In school, Maya was surprised to find that she graduated high school with enough college credits to begin her undergraduate career at Mizzou as a sophomore. Unfortunately, she had no idea what she wanted to do. With too many interests and ambitions and not enough time on the planet, Maya ultimately earned degrees in both psychology and communication / media studies. Outside of the classroom her extracurriculars included leading a competitive women’s a cappella group, working as a research assistant in a cognitive psychology lab and student publication staff writer, joining the honors societies for both disciplines: iCOM for marketing and Psi Chi for psychology, and various other activities in theatre, art and social causes. Now, in marketing leadership roles, she gets to exercise her creative and analytical muscles while being guided by her understanding of how people think and make decisions. She is always interested in attending conferences and engaging in discussions with discipline leaders.

Though she finds it hard to turn her brain off from work, in her free time Maya busies herself with travel, outdoor exploration, rock climbing, sustainability and gardening, art and painting, music, writing, reading, linguistics and off-the-wall adventures and projects. She is overwhelmingly loved by her significant other of 8 years and their two adopted pit bulls.
