(314) 500-HURTBurger Law has scheduled a 3-hour CLE for May 29. In attendance will be Gary Burger, Robert Cohen, Debbie Champion, and
Michael Downey. The CLE will be recorded and then used for future podcasts of Lawyer
vs. Lawyer.
Cohen will serve as the judge in the first hour of the program as Burger and Champion argue Motions to Compel. Motions
to Compel are common discovery issues that many encounter during litigation for personal injury cases.
Some of the issues faced during discovery are producing psychiatric records, Facebook records, and incident reports.
Other issues include getting the plaintiff to provide their complete file of employment and getting the defendant to
answer whether they are at fault in the case. Memoranda, motions, case law, and arguments all are provided to the
attendees.
In the second hour of the CLE, Burger and Champion will present attendees with their Top 10 Trial Tips. The attorneys
will share with the group their most effective tips for opening statements, voire dire, testimony, instruction, and
closing statements.
The final hour will be hosted by Downey, who will discuss ethics questions and answers most commonly found in litigation related to injury. Once the three hours are complete, the group will take part in a question
and answer session with all the presenters.
The cost to attend this three-hour CLE is $50 and the proceeds will be donated to Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.
Attendees can earn one hour of ethics credit and three hours of CLE credit.
