Burger Law currently represents Corizon correctional nurses in a lawsuit to recover wages not paid for doing pre- and post-shift activity.
We need to investigate these claims and get evidence and information for our case and to assist other nurses.
Who is this lawsuit for?
- Corizon corrections nurses not being paid for pre- and post-shift activity;
- Corizon corrections nurses who are only paid at their work station, instead of when they go through security, an airlock, walking to the medical wing, doing needle counts, etc.

Unpaid Corrections Employees
We filed this case in federal court to try to get justice for Corizon correctional nurses. Click here to view the complaint:
According to the complaint, plaintiffs in this case may include:
“All current and former hourly Correctional Nurses who have worked for Corizon in correctional prisons throughout Missouri at any time during the relevant statute of limitations through the final disposition of this matter, who have pay periods where they did not work more than forty hours in a seven day period, and performed pre- and post-shift activity for which they were not paid.”
$113 Million Jury Verdict and Judgment
In a similar case, Burger Law recently won a $113 Million class action for Missouri corrections officers and are looking to put a stop on this unlawful practice across the United States. Missouri DOC employees obtained a $113 million jury verdict and judgment. This was recently affirmed by the Court of Appeals.
Note that past results afford no guarantee of future results and every case is different and must be judged on its own merits.
