$200k Policy Limits Settlement for Client in Rear End Collision

Genavieve recently obtained a $200,000 policy limits settlement for our client arising out of a car crash in St. Louis.

Our client was traveling westbound on Forest Park Parkway when he was rear-ended by another driver. He hit his head on the windshield of the vehicle and sustained injuries to his neck, back, and head including post-concussion syndrome.

Our client incurred $356,383.29 in medical charges and an additional $51,000 in lost wages. As we often do, we submitted a bad faith settlement demand pursuant to RSMo. § 537.058 seeking the $200,000 policy limits.

Initially, the insurance company offered $85,000 which we rejected outright and filed a petition. The insurance company then caved and offered the full $200,000.

Also in the car was our client’s wife. She had originally signed up with us but then decided to not wait for a settlement. Our client’s wife settled her case on her own for $1,500, a fraction of what Genavieve got for her husband.

Our client and their wife were in the vehicle together when they were rear ended. Ultimately, the person with representation recovered more than 100 times the amount collected by the person who handled their claim on their own.
