(314) 500-HURTYou work hard for your wages, and sometimes you even work overtime to make sure that all of your bills are paid and
that you have money left over. And then sometimes, you’re asked to do things off the clock, or you find that your
pay doesn’t match up with the hours you worked. This is a problem. If you aren’t on the clock and being paid for
your work, you should not work, and if you’re missing pay out of your paycheck that should be there, then your wages
are being stolen. But what can you do in this situation? Whats rights do you have to make it right?
In this FAQ, we’re going to cover what wage theft is and how a personal injury lawyer in St. Louis can help you get
the wages you are owed and any additional financial recovery you may be entitled to. If you have any questions about
this FAQ, or if you would like to speak with one of our attorneys now, call or contact our team at 314-542-2222 or 618-272-2222. We don’t charge any

Federal and State laws mandate what you must be paid at a minimum level. If your employer agrees to pay you above
that level, then they must pay you at that agreed-upon amount. If your employer does not pay you at the agreed
amount, you can take legal action against them to get the unpaid wages as well as other damages and interest that
may have occurred because of the lack in satisfied payment.
Overtime works the same way. When you work over 40hrs a week, every hour after the first 40hrs then becomes overtime.
Overtime pay is typically at 150% of whatever your normal wage is. Your employer is required to pay you overtime,
and to pay you overtime at the overtime rate of 150% normal pay.
Whenever your employer fails to pay you at the agreed-upon wage, you can pursue them in a wage theft lawsuit. They
owe you the wages that you worked for, and you have a legal path to make sure those wages are paid to you, as well
as interest upon those wages until they are paid. So how does this work?
First, you need to make a record of the hours you worked, and the amount you were paid. This will show that the wages
you were paid were not correct with the number of hours you worked. Once you taken this step, it’s important to
speak with a Personal Injury Lawyer in St. Louis that has experience in handling wage theft claims. Burger Law

the Missouri Department of Corrections for unpaid wages. Our firm has the experience that your case will
