What is Roundup Weed Killer?

Roundup Cancer Claim Lawyers. Roundup is the most widely used industrial weedkiller in farms, gardens, and cities today. The active ingredient in Roundup, Glyphosate, is a chemical that is used to control and kill weed growth. Recently, a World Health Organization report stated that Glyphosate is a chemical that can possibly cause cancer. It was developed by Monsanto in 1974 and was marketed first to farmers and then to cities and individuals as a way to prune weeds from farms, gardens, and yards. The majority of Roundup use is dedicated to killing weeds that impact cash crops like corn, soy, and cotton which have been genetically altered to not be affected by Roundup. Humans, however, have not been genetically altered to be safe from the dangerous effects of Glyphosate, and many may have developed cancer after coming into contact with the chemical. But if a widely used chemical had a higher chance of causing cancer, wouldn’t this be a known major health and safety hazard? Monsanto, in order to protect it’s image and the company, has been known to attack scientists and alter or bury studies that negatively reflect upon the possible cancer causing chemical. This is a negligent and dangerous act.

Who is most at risk?

The individuals who are at the most risk of having contact with Roundup Weed Killer are farm workers, nursery employees, garden center employees, and landscapers. People who also regularly use Roundup Weed Killer for their home or property lawn and garden maintenance are also at a higher risk of possibly developing cancer because of contact with Glyphosate.

Several of the most prominent cases involve individuals who used Roundup Weed Killer for small business farms and for lawn and garden maintenance.
