We helped customers of a car dealership company when they sold a “protection plan” for automobiles. This protection plan was touted as “Under Sealant and Body Sealant” to prevent rust and weathering on vehicles and cost $600. However, we had evidence from their workers that they never even put it on.
We fought and prosecuted this case for a long time. We settled the claim on behalf of about 30 Plaintiffs. The evidence in that case was overwhelming that Ackerman didn’t apply the under coating and knew they didn’t at the time. Even when they did put it on, it was about $20 worth of materials that they sold for $600. So, be careful when purchasing add-ons in car dealership purchases.
