Riverfront Times Story: Widow Sues Bank for Security Guard Death

In August 2021, a deadly bank robbery made the news in the St. Louis area. Security guard Ted Horn was shot and
killed when two men robbed the bank where Horn worked.

Attorney Gary Burger and his team at Burger Law held the bank accountable for the dangerous conditions Horn was in
which ultimately ended his life. Horn was in the back office at the time the two robbers began their offense, and
Horn emerged with no warning as to what was going on. He came to the front where the robbery was ongoing and, after
asking the men what they were doing, was shot and killed.

We are representing the late Ted Horn’s wife, Jana, as the survivor in a wrongful death suit against the bank. Our
heart breaks for Ted’s family and loved ones but we are dedicated to leveraging our skills, expertise and case law
knowledge toward justice for Jana and her family. We demand a large settlement to help them heal.
