Holding Insurers Accountable

We continue to be super busy at the firm. And our battles with insurance companies keeps continuing.

It never ends. I have done about 5 mediations in the last two weeks and have walked from them a a higher rate than ever before. See you at trial.

Every case. Doesn't matter how great the case is or how deserving the client, its a fight for every penny of recovery.

I have said for many years insurance companies are in the business of collecting premiums and denying claims. I sometimes think they will change and behave responsibly, but no.

We learned in law school that insurance is good as it spreads risk. But through higher premiums and denial of claims, their profits are huge. The top 10 insurance companies had combined profits of over $120 Billion in 2020. Insurance is really about profit and not helping the insureds.

It's ridiculous that they take that money and pour it into marketing and lobbying to blame lawyers and injured people to deflect from their conduct.

It can get frustrating, but it really underscores the need for zealous representation of lawyers to fight for people. I am grateful we have a great team of lawyers to fight for our clients.

And that insurance fight is turning big time to health care. I heard a story this morning on NPR about fighting insurance companies for denial of care.

If there is anywhere where we should not have heartless insurance companies, it is in health care. Their denials cost lives and cause pain and heartache.

Let's keep up the fight to hold insurers accountable.
